Many of us know what we enjoy doing, but not always can we turn it into a career. Growing up, I didn’t always know what I wanted to do, but I did know I wanted a job that allowed me to help people. Combined with my interest in and knack for numbers, it seems as though I was meant to become a financial advisor.

Starting My Career

I began my career in financial services in 1993, after several years of working in retail banking and upon completion of my degree at UCSC I decided to become a financial advisor. I was driven by the desire to guide families and help them make important financial decisions. Over the course of the next five years, I became a Senior Financial Consultant and successfully ran the wealth management division for Washington Mutual Bank in South Santa Clara and San Benito Counties.

I was eventually recruited by Banc of America Investments now Merrill Lynch as their Vice President of Investments to lead the premier banking and investments division, where I worked exclusively with high net worth clients and focused on their investment management, cash flow, credit, and retirement planning. Over the next few years, I went on to open my own independent Wells Fargo Advisors FINET offices with locations in Morgan Hill and Downtown San Jose. In 2012 I was recruited by J.P. Morgan to lead their Chase Private Client Division in the San Jose Regional Office, taking the title of Vice President, Private Client Advisor.

In 2014, I was ready for a change. As much as I enjoyed what I did, I wanted an opportunity to work more one-on-one with clients in an independent setting. While investing was a big part of their financial picture, I wanted to provide more comprehensive services that addressed 360 degrees of their financial life. After spending more than a decade at large, national firms, I formed Advisors 360 LLC to do just that.

At Advisors 360 LLC, I leverage teams at several institutional and boutique investment firms to create tailored solutions for my clients. Clients will never get a cookie cutter approach typically used at most institutions. Instead, my independence allows me to deliver a multi-manager, multi-strategy approach and address all areas of wealth management and financial planning.

My Experiences

Through my 17+ years of experience, I have navigated clients through some of the most challenging financial markets. My experiences with the traditional Wall Street, bank, and independent brokerage firms have been integral in determining the best solutions for my clients.

What my experience has taught me is that no one investment firm or strategy is consistently better than the other. In my many years of advising clients, I have been put to the test with real-life challenges, transitioning clients to different phases of their lives, tragedies, and successes. I’ve learned that every family dynamic is unique and presents their own set of challenges. I love the process and the relationships built as a result, and it has been my pleasure to walk with many of my clients to the end of their lives and continue their legacies with their loved ones.

The Challenges And Successes

I am very particular as to the clients I serve because I try to focus on working with those I believe I can help best. This can be tricky for business, as many firms will work with anyone who has the money. I, on the other hand, want to make sure we are a good fit and that I can add value to their life.

Despite the occasional struggles on the business side of things, I can’t imagine having any other career. It’s incredibly fulfilling when I can see I have instilled confidence in my clients. The financial landscape is always changing as are the needs of my clients. They depend on my advice, and that is something I do not take lightly. I am driven every day of my career with the desire to exceed their expectations.
